Published Works of Jennifer Black, Founder of Snap Happy

So one of the questions we get asked all the time is “where all has your work been published?” It’s always interesting to see which weddings are selected for publication. Honestly, we don’t have a lot of control over what gets published and what doesn’t. Magazine and blogs usually just contact us out of nowhere and ask if they can print some specific pictures. In fact, DeSoto Magazine put us on the cover of their magazine without even telling us!!! But hey I’m proud to say that our work has been published all over the place!!! Here’s a list y’all can check out:

  • Magazine and Print: Southern Bride Magazine, Say Yes Magazine, Pink Bride Magazine, DeSoto Magazine, RSVP Magazine, Click Magazine, 4Memphis Magazine, The Commercial Appeal.
  • Online Publications and Blogs: Borrowed & Blue, The Knot, The Wedding Channel, Photobiz, The Digital Story, The Little Borrowed Dress.
  • Advertising Campaigns: Heartwood Hall, Cedar Hall, Davies Plantation, The Columns, The Clark Tower Center, Cheers Event Planning, Southern Event Planning, 117 Event Designs, Simply Delicious Catering, Delectable Caterings, Frost Bake Shop, Cakes by Mom & Me.

In 2012 Southern Bride Magazine named us the best detail photographers of the year – so that was pretty exciting!! That same year, we also won “Best Decor Photos” in Say Yes Magazine!!

Just in time for Christmas of 2014 we made our first ever magazine cover!!! Now it’s one thing to be published in a magazine, but having your photo featured on the cover of a magazine is the highest honor a wedding photographer can aspire to. Katie & Steven really made all of this possible by giving me a little bit of extra time to create something exceptional for them!

And then just a couple months later, one of our photos was published on another magazine cover!! How crazy is that? This time from Brittany & Adam’s wedding!!! They’re a magical couple that worked SO hard to make their wedding unlike any other – and it really paid off! Congrats you two!!!!!

So that’s a little bit about our work as wedding photographers, now here’s a little bit of info about me 🙂 My name is Jennifer and I own Snap Happy Photography and Snap Happy Productions!! My husband and I founded Snap Happy back in 2007 after I graduated from Memphis College of Art and we absolutely love working together! We’ve shot 30-40 weddings a year, every year, since 2009. And I know what you’re thinking “whoa, that’s a lot of weddings!” Yes, but it’s also a lot of delicious cake!!! I’m not even kidding, haha!! But it’s more than the cake 😉 I absolutely love everything about weddings! Think about it. Everyone is dressed up. We’re all together in a gorgeous venue. There’s a big party with lots of dancing. And most importantly, I get to watch two people get married!!! It’s like the Princess Bride every weekend, except without the sword fighting… But we can work on that 😉

    Hi Jennifer,

You mention seasonal discount on your website. Do you have any for this fall? You also mention payment plan options for portrait packages. Could you give me more information?

I am interested in scheduling a family portrait session this fall. What is your availability for Saturdays? And when you schedule family portraits, do you have sessions inside and out, or just one or the other. Do you have a preference for locations or does the client typically choose?

    Sorry for all the questions!

    Thanks!ReplyCancel
